Tiger Woods headlines Buick Open
by Corey E

Normally, golf betting sharps wouldn’t even be taking a second look at the Buick Open odds this weekend; however, with the announcement that Tiger Woods will be in the field, all eyes will be on this tournament after all!
Those who bet on golf are somewhat surprised that Tiger would take part in this tournament, after his dismal performance at the British Open. Luckily for Woods, the heroic outing turned in by Tom Watson overshadowed the fact that he shockingly missed the cut. Most felt that he would take time away from the tour to re-tool his swing, and come back closer to another major event. Instead, he’ll return a week early.
However, many feel that the Buick Open will be—let’s say, a relaxing affair for Tiger. At the British Open, he was frequently angry and aggressive with his clubs afterwards, which is uncharacteristic behavior for the typically mild-mannered role model. In order for him to get back on track, he needs a familiar course, and his good pals at Buick to surround him!
While Tiger and Buick have split due to financial difficulties on the latter’s behalf, the two parties maintain a close relationship, and that would appear to be the reason why the world’s No. 1 is taking part in the event, above all else.
Warwick Hills, where the tournament is hosted, is known for absurdly low scoring—a factor those looking at golf betting lines should take into consideration. For Tiger, it could be a big ego boost as he prepares for the PGA championships. However, it is a nice place to practice, as although the course is generally an easy one, the high scores across the leaderboard prepare a player very well for high-pressure rounds of golf. In addition, the fairways at Warwick are relatively narrow, and are closed in by trees, so Tiger will still have to place his balls on the fairway, which he failed to do during his two-day stay at the British this year.
Golf odds will surely favor Tiger this weekend, although he has not played a tournament here since 2006. That year, Tiger shot 24-under to blow away the competition, and anything the golf lines predicted.
If there was ever an easy bet in golf, head over to the BetUS sportsbook and bet on Tiger Woods to win the Buick Open in a landslide!
