Sergio vs. Phil vs. Vijay vs.… Kenny Perry?
by BetUS Staff

Sergio Garcia did it again. The man is starting to appear more and more like Britney Spears every day (you know, ‘Oops, I Did It Again? Okay, maybe you don’t…). I mean, seriously. For golf betting fans, has there been a more frustrating thing to look at it then Sergio getting oh so close to winning a tournament and then losing it by the slimmest of margins?
The PGA Championship was sort of understandable. I mean, Padraig Harrington has been a monster for online sportsbook betting fans this season. He won the British Open, his second Brit win in a row, with a wrist injury.
Then, he stormed back to take Sergio out of his game on the final day of the PGA Championship. So, Sergio losing to Padraig wasn’t terrible. But losing to Vijay Singh, who hadn’t made a cut in three straight weeks, was pretty bad. It’s a sign that Sergio might not have the mental ability to close the deal.
That could make him the next coming of Phil Mickelson. By the way, Phil has been terrible lately. He’s the favorite again to win this weekend’s tournament and the favorite in most of the match-ups he’s in, but I’m not going with him. I just can’t.
Let’s get to it!
Deutsche Bank Championship Best Match-Up Online Wagering Propositions
1. Kenny Perry online odds Ev vs. Kevin Stricker online odds – 130 - - Kenny Perry bounces back in this tournament, wins yours truly all of the online betting dollars he has lost on him lately, and everything is right in the world of golf again. Well, except for El Tigre being on the bench still. I’m going with Perry.
2. Vijay Singh online odds – 130 vs. Padraig Harrington online odds Ev - - Padraig missed the cut in last weekend’s tournament. Vijay won it. This looks like an obvious play for Vijay, right? Wrong! After Vijay won his last tournament he didn’t make the cut in his next three. My online wagering dollars will be on Padraig in this match-up.
3. Sergio Garcia online odds – 110 vs. Phil Mickelson online odds – 120 - - I said I wasn’t going to take Phil and I meant it. Not even in a situation where he’s matched up against a guy who might just be as bad as he is when it comes to closing the deal. I still like Sergio. At least he gets camera time on Sundays.
4. Adam Scott online odds – 105 vs. Anthony Kim online odds – 125 - - The odds say Kim and I agree. Anthony Kim has had a great golfing season so far. Why not keep it going? I’m with you Anthony!
5. Ernie Els online odds + 105 vs. Jim Furyk online odds – 135 - - This is the type of tournament that Furyk could excel in. He doesn’t need to win it. He just needs to beat Els. I’m on board, Jimmy. Of course, I’ve sort of been on board with you for a while. For once, could you just make me look smart? I just want to look smart, Jim. That’s all.
6. Paul Casey online odds – 130 vs. Geoff Ogilvy online odds Ev - - Everything points towards Casey beating Ogilvy in this match-up, but I have the feeling that good old Geoff will bring it home for me. Putting up an extra 35 bucks on Furyk is one thing. Putting up extra bucks on Casey versus Ogilvy is another. I can’t do it. I have to take Ogilvy in this match-up.
Good Luck!
