PGA Golf - Crowne Plaza Invitational

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are taking this week off, but the other golfers of the PGA Tour will go to Fort Worth to compete in the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.
Tim Herron won this tournament at Colonial Country Club last year, when it was still called the Bank of America Colonial (Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts has picked up the sponsorship deal for the next six years). However, it’s not Herron who’s the favorite.
That honor goes to Jim Furyk, listed at +1200 odds in the BetUS.com sportsbook to pick up a victory on the weekend. Furyk is up to third place in the World Golf Ranking (behind only Woods and Mickelson), although he’s only 32nd in FedEx Cup points this season. Through his 11 PGA Tour events in 2007 Furyk has ended up in the Top 10 three times.
Second on the current odds list to win the Crowne Plaza Invitational is Stewart Cink, who is listed at +1400. Cink is 18th in the World Golf Ranking, and 33rd in FedEx Cup points.
Trevor Immelman and Rory Sabbatini are both listed at +2000 odds to win in Fort Worth, followed by Arron Oberholser, Rod Pampling, and David Toms (who are all at +2500). Two-time champion Kenny Perry (2003 and 2005) is back at +6000 odds.
