Week 3 NCAA Football Lines - Tennessee vs. Florida

The NCAA football betting community has watched the No. 22 Tennessee Volunteers post a 1-1 straight up and against the spread record in the early goings, and on Saturday they'll invade the swamp to play the No. 5 Florida Gators in an SEC showdown.

In their first two games, Tennessee has scored 70 points while allowing 64 as both played over the total with ease - oddsmakers have taken that into consideration by listing a robust total of 57 for their game against Florida.

The Volunteer's offense has averaged 425.5 yards per game thus far for a total of 851 - 304 on the ground and 547 through the air. Defensively, Tennessee surrendered 61 points through the first six quarters.

The Gators have totaled 108 points and 1,010 yards of offense in home wins over Western Kentucky and Troy for a 2-0 straight up record and a 1-0 mark against the spread. Florida's offense has scored on all 14 trips inside the red zone this year, 13 were touchdowns.

The Gator's offense will be a bit hobbled on Saturday with the absence of wideout Andre Caldwell, the team's second-leading receiver last season, who sprained his MCL last week. The senior captain could be out at least two weeks. Caldwell is averaging 27.8 yards per catch this year.

On defense, Florida has surrendered 540 yards in their first two, a stout 101 on the ground and 439 through the air, while averaging 17 points per game.

Florida is going for a 10th consecutive straight up victory, which would be their longest winning streak since 1996, and has won 17 in a row at home. NCAA football odds list the Gators as the 9-point favorites.

The Gators won 16-7 in 2005 in a cover victory as the 6.5-point chalk at Gainesville, and won 21-20 in a money-dropping loss as the 4.5-point favorites last year in Knoxville for their 15th straight up win in the past 21 meetings against Tennessee.
