The Suns need to start getting things together if they wish to even make a statement in the rough and tumble Western Conference. The Clippers are barely trying to keep things together as the loss of Elton Brand and Shaun Livingston has proven too much for them to overcome.

The bottom line in this game is that the Phoenix Suns cannot afford to lose. They should have no problem going out and establishing around a 12 to 20 point lead in this game. If they do that, then the chances of the Clippers actually coming back and making a game out of this is pretty minimal.
One of the reasons for that is style. The Clippers play a style conducive to the Suns’ attack. Also, the Clippers do not have a go-to-guy in the form of a Kobe Bryant whereby the three-headed monster of the Phoenix Suns - - Nash, Stoudemire, and Marion - - gets counteracted.
Without a go-to-guy player expect the Clippers to have trouble even keeping up with a Suns attack that should be smarting after that loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Suns are a better team than their record indicates and, if they have any hopes of making it to the NBA Finals, have to start burying bad teams on the road.
That trend could start tonight against a Clipper team who has fallen on hard times after a spirited start to the season.
