Reaching the semi-final, she topped Olga Govortsova, the fourth seed, in the quarterfinal today, in a close affair 7-6 (4), 7-6(2). At +170 underdog odds, Pironkova holds value should she orchestrate the upset. I expect she will give Radwanska a tough match, but the slightly more experienced Radwanska should persevere.

This is the first time the pair meets at a WTA level event. Amanmuradova may be a tricky player for Dementieva in that she stands 6’3” tall and has a booming serve to complement her stature.
