WTA Tennis Betting - Third Round Tennis Free Picks Part 2
By Nila Amerova
Amelia Island, Florida – As the Bausch & Lomb Championship draw trims down to the last 16 players, some exciting matchups are shaping up for sports betting enthusiasts to wager on BetUS SportsBook tennis. Here is a look at some of the upcoming R16 matchups at the tennis odds that are in full swing at BetUS.
Tennis Betting Line: Elena Vesnina vs. Alize Cornet
Match Time: 11:00 AM Eastern Time, Thursday April 10, 2008
Tennis Prediction: Elena Vesnina perseverd in the second round over fifth seed Patty Schnyder, topping the favorite in three sets 6-2, 2-6, 6-2. The Russian No. 45 Elena Vesnina brings a 10-7 record for the season into the third round and in terms of speculating on her against Alize Cornet, I like her chances. She favors clay and having contested two matches in this tournament already she is well warmed up for her third round encounter.
Teenager Alize Cornet bested Sybille Bammer to set up her third round encounter with Elena Vesnina, defeating the Austrian Bammer easily 6-1, 6-3. But the fast rising French teenager was slightly favoured on the money line at -125 to advance into the R16. Having delivered once as a favorite, she may very well deliver again in this matchup.
In the end, the balance tips in favour of Vesnina, owing to her experience at this level. Although I expect a tough match from both players.
Tennis Free Pick: Vesnina in three sets
Tennis Betting Line: Dominika Cibulkova vs. Anna Chakvetadze
Match Time: 11:00 AM Eastern Time, Thursday April 10, 2008
Tennis Prediction: This is an excellent matchup as fast rising Slovak teenager is slowly stirring up attention for herself. Most notably, she notched a victory over a Top 10 player for the first time in her career this year – defeated Venus Williams. She is one to watch indeed.
Against Chakvetadze I like Cibulkova’s chances as while she has been improving, Chakvetadze has been struggling. Her only notable run this year was winning the title in Paris, since then Chakvetadze has failed to factor at a tournament. Chakvetadze is appearing for the first time in Amelia Island and has never reached the final of a clay court tournament.
Cibulkova on the other hand has a good clay court game. Moreover, she has contested two matches in this tournament – defeated Nathalie Dechy and Viktoria Azarenka respectively. Her clay court game adjusted she has the slight edge against Chakvetadze.
Tennis Free Pick: Cibulkova in straight sets
