Bet On UFC - UFC 79 Nemesis

On Saturday, December 29 UFC betting action will be at its best with a tremendous card. There's two events worthy of main event status as former champion Matt Hughes tangles with Georges "Rush" St-Pierre and veterans Chuck ''The Iceman'' Liddell and Wanderlei "The Axe Murderer" Silva do battle on the same night.

Hughes and St-Pierre will be squaring off against each other for the third time. In UFC 50, Hughes won by way of submission and in UFC 65 St-Pierre claimed victory with a technical knock out. With the scored tied 1-1 this will make for a dynamic rubber match.

Hughes brings an impressive 43-5-0 record to the cage. He's a physically strong warrior with great takedowns and grappling ability. Hughes is also capable of landing a knock out blow making him an all around dangerous fighter.

He's coming off a win over Chris Lytle in UFC 68, when the Illinois native went the distance to score the victory with a unanimous decision. Despite his respectable status and experience, UFC odds list Hughes the underdog at +190. With value like that, Hughes is certainly worth supporting.

St-Pierre owns a solid 13-2-0 record and also has great takedowns. He's a strong fighter with an excellent ground-n-pound game.

St-Pierre is coming off a victory to Josh Koscheck in UFC 74 with a technical knock out. The Canadian has the respect of oddsmakers who've tagged him the favorite at -240.

This bout will have UFC bettors on the edge of their seats from start to finish, because this one could end at any moment by knock out standing up or submission on the ground. The over and under is 1½ over -180. But if you think this fight will end in rapid fashion, you can get value at 1½ under +140.

The matchup between Liddell and Silva will be an exciting fight as well. At the age of 37, former champion Liddell returns to the Octagon after coming off back-to-back losses to Quinton Jackson and Keith Jardine. Consecutive set backs have the UFC world asking: Is Liddell at the end of his career?

Liddell's excellent striking skills and grappling talents have made him a feared fighter for years. He's a stout 24-4-0 but oddsmakers have made him the slight underdog at even money. Liddell will be out for blood because another loss may call for retirement.

At 31, Silva has also been around the block a time or two, compiling a respectable 37-7-1 record. Silva has lost two of his last three UFC fights with his most recent defeat coming to Tito Ortiz back in 2000.

The Brazilian fighter is a popular name in the Pride world, where his most recent fight came in February against Dan Henderson with a win. Now, Silva returns to the cage as the favorite at -130. He'll try to get the job done with intensity, vicious knees and powerful strikes. The experts don't think this one will last long, as the over and under is listed at 1½ under -150.

Also on the card, Lyoto Machida (-130) will put his perfect 10-0-0 record on the line against Rameau "The African Assassin" Sokoudjou (Even) who's 4-1-0.

This will be an awesome night of bone crushing excitement in the cage. So be sure to join us and get down on all the UFC wagering action. Are you ready? Let's get it on!
