UFC 69 Betting - Koscheck vs Sanchez Prediction

UFC 69 is going to be a night for Welterweight battles. While Georges St. Pierre’s first title defense against Matt Serra is the main event, many MMA fans and UFC bettors will have their eyes locked on the highly anticipated match-up between Diego Sanchez and Josh Koscheck.

Sanchez and Koscheck’s records are a combined 28-1-0. Neither one of them knows how to lose very well. They met in the semi finals of The Ultimate Fighter TV series where Sanchez scored a slim decision victory. They were training partners then and enemies now.

The lead up to this fight is littered with trash talk, bad blood and everything else a good sporting rivalry should have.

At an impressive 19-0-0 Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez is currently favored at -250. He’s an all-around MMA warrior that has been making bettors money for 19 straight matches.

Josh “Kos” Koscheck (9-1-0) is an exciting fighter that has been rapidly improving and expanding his fighting arsenal. Coming from a collegiate wrestling background, Koscheck has always been strong on the ground. Now he’s grown his striking, takedowns and has fine-tuned his technique.

At a +175 underdog, Koscheck could be a great money-making bet. He’s a different fighter than when they first met and he’s hungry to “give Diego a good beatin’”. He’s a mouthpiece with the skills to back it up. Leading the trash talk, Koscheck is talking a big game coming into this fight. Looking past Sanchez’ perfect record, Koscheck has accused him of being a boring cautious fighter.

Whether you like him or not, Josh Koscheck can put on a great show.

There’s more on the line than glory for these fighters at UFC 69. While it isn’t for sure, UFC president, Dana White, has stated that the winner of this fight may become the number one contender for the UFC Welterweight Championship Belt.

If that’s not enough to push this into one of the greatest fights of the year (and certainly of the night) I don’t know what is.

These fighters are evenly matched, but look for Koscheck and his attitude to bring home a victory. I’m calling a Koscheck win in the second round by strikes. If he can score a take down and bring the pain with his deadly ground and pound, it’s lights out for Diego.
