UFC 68 Betting - UPRISING Recap

Saturday's UFC 68's main event saw Randy ''The Natural'' Couture score a big upset to reclaim the title and build the bankroll of his investors. Couture dominated Tim ''The Maine-iac'' Sylvia to become three time heavyweight champion of the world.

Couture's victory also makes him the first fighter in UFC history to become a five-time champion between two weight divisions.

Couture entered the Octagon as the underdog at +240, but proved oddsmakers wrong in a five-round unanimous decision win. Accompanied to the cage by Aerosmith's "Back in the Saddle," it was clear that Couture was all business.

As the men touched gloves to start the battle Couture charged Sylvia (-300), landing a hard overhand right that sent the champion to the ground. Couture dominated the remaining first round. The second round was closer than the first but was also won by Couture.

The third round was arguably one of the best rounds as the UFC has ever seen. Couture stood in the face of Sylvia and traded punches. As Sylvia attempted to reach in with long shots, Couture slipped each punch, returning two of his own to win the round.

With the fight completely in his favor on the scorecards, Couture exploded with all of his might to start the fifth and final round, sending Sylvia to the mat. With exactly one minute left, Sylvia attempted to stand back up before Couture scored one final takedown to seal the deal.

Prior to the main event, Rich ''Ace'' Franklin didn't disappoint his supporters as the -400 favorite. Franklin posted a victory over Jason ''The Athlete'' MacDonald (+350). MacDonald's corner threw in the towel following the second round in a fight Franklin dominated.

Matt Hughes as another big favorite at -600 also won his match against Chris ''Lights Out'' Lytle (+450). The unanimous three-round decision win wasn't an impressive victory for Hughes, but nevertheless it was indeed a win he'll take against Lytle who put up a good fight.

Hughes, who improved his record to 43-5, will soon return to fight Georges St. Pierre. The bout will likely take place in Montreal, hometown of St. Pierre, the current UFC welterweight champion.

Earlier in the evening, Jason Lambert as the underdog at +320 scored a second round victory over Renato Sobral. Lambert's left hook landed a payday for puppy players in this one.

Andrew McFedries (+220) as the underdog was ready to go against Martin Kampmann (-280), but it was Kampmann who got the win by choking out McFedries in the first round.
