Tennis Odds - Bausch & Lomb - Second Round Picks

Amelie Island, Florida – As day three of the tournament approaches, the 32 remaining players in sports betting play will be trimming down to 16 players. So with so many matchups to bet on at the Bausch & Lomb Championships, here are some tennis free picks to get you started.

Tennis Betting Line: Daniela Hantuchova vs. Karolina Sprem

Match Time: 10:00 AM Eastern Time, Wednesday April 8, 2008

Tennis Prediction: Third seed Daniela Hantuchova has a lot of experience playing in Amelie Island, having reached the quarterfinals of this event twice. In her opening match against Karolina Sprem, Hantuchova, who has enjoyed a successful start to the season, should get the odds makers nod for the win. Arriving in Amelie Island with a 12-6 record for the season, which includes a semifinal appearance at the 2008 Australian Open and three consecutive quarterfinals runs – Paris, Antwerp and Indian Wells. Take Hantuchova to advance into the R16.

Tennis Free Pick: Hantuchova in straight sets

Tennis Betting Line: Jill Craybas vs. Lindsay Davenport

Match Time: 10:00 AM Eastern Time, Wednesday April 8, 2008

Tennis Prediction: In this all-American affair, few would bet against Lindsay Davenport. Davenport is enjoying an exceptional comeback season – 17-4 record with two WTA titles. Davenport is also one of two players in the 64-strong draw at Amelie Island that has not only reached the final of this event four times, winning it three times (1997, 2004-05) and finishing runner-up once in 2003. Take Davenport in her second round match without a second thought.

Tennis Free Pick: Davenport in straight sets

Tennis Betting Line: Katarina Srebotnik vs. Lucie Safarova

Match Time: 10:00 AM Eastern Time, Wednesday April 8, 2008

Tennis Prediction: I like Lucie Safarova’s chances in this matchup. The 21-year-old Czech has had a slow start to the season, but with the WTA circuit moving to clay court events – her favorite surface – Safarova has an opportunity to orchestrate a bit of a turn around. This is the first-ever meeting between the pair, and although Srebotnik ranks higher and arrives on the heels of a better season, I expect Safarova to cause a mini-upset at this stage of the tournament.

Tennis Free Pick: Safarova in three sets
