Tennis Odds – ATP Masters Series Quarterfinals

Hamburg, Germany – Rafael Nadal’s streak hit 79 matches on clay when he defeated Igor Andreev 6-4, 6-1 to advance to the quarterfinal in Hamburg.

Also advancing into the quarterfinals in the bottom half of the draw were Nicolas Almagro, who defeated Jose Acasuso 6-2, 6-3; Lleyton Hewitt, who clinched the victory over Nikolay Davydenko in three sets 6-4, 2-6, 6-4; and Fernando Gonzalez, who battled back from a set down to defeat Jurgen Melzer 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Holding a 10/6 record for the season, Hewitt has had a struggling season thus far, largely owing to injuries. His run in Hamburg is his best since winning the International Series in Las Vegas in February and is just his second clay court tournament this year. In Rome last week, he was eliminated in the first round.

With limited clay court play, Hewitt is a long shot against Almagro.
