Tennis Betting Odds - BMW Open First Round
By Nila Amerova
Munich, Germany – The BetUS tennis betting market for the BMW Open is currently open for betting, and with many exciting matchups shaping up in Munich, sports bettors will not want to take this chance to speculate on some of the action. If you have not joined the online tennis betting community in this thrilling past time, it is not too late. To get you going, here are some free tennis picks to consider, complete with tennis predictions and BetUS tennis odds.
Tennis Betting Line: Simone Bolelli +110 Andreas Seppi -150
Match Time: 05:30 AM Eastern Time, Wednesday April 23, 2008
Tennis Prediction: This is the first-ever meeting between fellow Italians – Simone Bolelli and Andreas Seppi – at an ATP level draw event. On paper, both stack up evenly. They hold identical marks for the year at 9-10 coming into the second round in Munich. No. 58 Bolelli’s best performance this year was a semi-final run in Zagreb; meanwhile, Seppi reached the final eight in Rotterdam. In terms of handicapping this match, Seppi holds the slightest edge on clay courts. As such, he enters as the favorite. At -150 odds, I would agree and take Seppi for the win, but I expect a close contest between the two.
Tennis Free Picks: Seppi in three sets
Tennis Betting Line:
Steve Darcis -300 Over 21½ -120
Benjamin Becker +200 Under 21½ -120
Match Time: 05:30 AM Eastern Time, Wednesday April 23, 2008
Betting on this matchup comes with not only the standard money line option, but also games betting as well with the total, where bettors can bet on the number of games the match will go, taking the over or under.
Tennis Prediction: Darcis holds the slightest of edges over Germany’s Benjamin Becker, with a 1-0 lifetime – the victory came in 2008 in Memphis on hard, an event Darcis went on to win. Because of his title victory in Memphis, Darcis saw his ranking jump (he entered the event ranked No.81). Darcis gets the nod from bookies with the -300 favorite odds; however, is he the better play in this upcoming matchup. Aside from his memorable run in Memphis, based on the performances in his five other ATP level events, Darcis posted unremarkable results, making me believe he is not the best play in this matchup. In his first clay court event, in Valencia, a fortnight ago, Darcis retired from his match against Guillermo Garcia Lopez. So there is an added consideration in his questionable form.
Benjamin Becker is a streaky player and perhaps not the best underdog to push, but I like his chances because he holds home court edge. At +200 underdog odds, I believe he offers better value for their buck! Take the odds makers bait and bet on Becker. (Side note: I expect an easy match, take the under 21 ½ games at -120).
Tennis Free Picks: Becker in straight sets
Tennis Betting Line: Alexandre Sidorenko +200 Younes El Aynaoui -300
Match Time: 05:30 AM Eastern Time, Wednesday April 23, 2008
Tennis Prediction: Veteran tennis player Younes El Aynaoui (37-years-old) offers the tennis betting market an opportunity for a sentimental play. With the odds makers tipping El Aynaoui of Morocco, who currently ranks just under the Top 300 (career high singles ranking was No.14 on November 3, 2003), as the favorite, betting on him would not be too outrageous, even though he does meet a player more than 10 years his junior in Alexandre Sidorenko. Heck, even I am feeling sentimental. Take El Aynaoui for the win.
Tennis Free Picks: El Aynaoui in three sets
