Tennis Line: Ivan Ljubicic -350 Sam Querrey +225

Match Time: 05:00 A.M. EST

Tennis Prediction: Ljubicic has had a relatively good season, amassing a 42/21 record for the season, which includes two ATP titles. In 2001, Ljubicic won this title. However, after winning the Grand Prix de Tennis de Lyon title the one time, the subsequent three years (2002-2005) saw Ljubicic advance only to the second and last year he crashed out in the first round.

In spite of his less than spectacular results in Lyon, Ljubicic should advance into the second round this year. In Sam Querrey he faces an up-and-coming American talent, but one that needs to complete the maturation process. Experience should be Ljubicic’s edge in this match up.

Tennis Free Pick: Ljubicic (-350) in straight sets.

Tennis Line: Thierry Ascione +190 Janko Tipsarevic -275

Match Time: 05:00 A.M. EST

Tennis Prediction: No.96 Thierry Ascione and No.63 Janko Tipsarevic meet for the first time. Both players have been struggling this season; Tipsarevic holds an 18/20 for the season, whereas Ascione holds a meager 2/3 record. Tipsarevic arrives on the heels of a good run at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow (lost to Nikolay Davydenko in the semifinals). However, Ascione won a challenger event last week in Andrezieux, France.

Both Tipsarevic and Ascione have enjoyed some success recently, but the balance tips in favor of Ascione. Following his victory last week at the challenger event and with home court advantage, banking on the Frenchman Ascione could prove to be the winning bet.

Tennis Free Pick: Ascione (+190) in three sets.

Tennis Line: Olivier Rochus -155 Michael Llodra +115

Match Time: 05:00 A.M. EST

Tennis Prediction: No. 54 Olivier Rochus holds a 2-0 edge over No. 75 Michael Llodra; the most recent victory of which was at the 2007 French Open. Rochus at -155 is a good bet, owing to his winning record against Llodra. Moreover, further strengthening his odds is a great fall season. After the US Open, Rochus won a challenger event in Orleans, France, and then he followed up with a runner-up finish at the International Series event – The Kingfisher Airline Open in Mumbai, India (lost to Richard Gasquet).

Tennis Free Pick: Rochus (-155) in straight sets.
