Tennis Betting - Bausch & Lomb Second Round odds
By Nila Amerova
Amelie Island, Florida – At the close of the first day of tennis betting action at the Bausch & Lomb Championships, the favorites contesting the first round on Monday pulled through with imperious victories. Ninth seed Sybille Bammer and eleventh seed Amelie Mauresmo went through to the second round in straight set victories, meanwhile Virginie Razzano and Anabel Medina Garrigues were also winners. With the tournament entering the second round, here are a look at some of the tennis odds currently live at BetUS Sportsbook.
Tennis Betting Line: Tatiana Perebiynis +300 Dinara Safina -500
Match Time: 10:00 AM Eastern Time, Wednesday April 8, 2008
Tennis Prediction: Russian Dinara Safina is tipped at -500 on the money line and by all indications, she is the better play in this matchup. Arriving in Amelie Island, the sixth seed Safina brings a 9-8 record for the season, which includes an impressive run into the Sony Ericsson Open quarterfinal last week.
Ukrainian Tatiana Perebiynis, who currently ranks No.74, owns a 1-0 record over Dinara Safina, but the win came in 2002. With more than six years since they last met, the Top 20 elite player Safina should win this match easily.
Tennis Free Pick: Safina in straight sets
Tennis Betting Line: Ayumi Morita +425 Anna Chakvetadze -800
Match Time: 10:00 AM Eastern Time, Wednesday April 8, 2008
Tennis Prediction: No.7 Anna Chakvetadze has had a slow start to her season, posting modest results in the majority of tournaments she contested thus far. Aside from winning the title in Paris, Chakvetadze mixed results in tournament activity include three opening match losses (Sydney, Antwerp and Doha), two R32 appearances (Australian Open and Miami) and one quarterfinal run in Dubai. She arrives in Amelie Island with a 10-6 record for the season. In spite of her struggles this season, Chakvetadze is a good play in her opening match against No.114 Morita Ayumi.
Tennis Free Pick: Chakvetadze in straight sets
Tennis Betting Line: Alize Cornet -125 Sybille Bammer -115
Match Time: 10:00 AM Eastern Time, Wednesday April 8, 2008
Tennis Prediction: This is the first-ever meeting between No.49 Alize Cornet of France and No.23 Sybille Bammer of Austria. The fast rising French teenager is slightly favoured on the money line at -125. Meanwhile, the 27-year-old Bammer is marginally disadvantaged at -115. In terms of handicapping this matchup, as the odds would indicate it should be a close contest – more so, because Bammer has a tendency to unravel in a match, thus easily handing a victory over to an opponent she should beat. The less experienced 18-year-old Cornet has the slight advantage on clay.
Tennis Free Pick: Cornet in three sets
