Props for Super Bowl XLII – Laurence Maroney Props

Wide receivers are not the only players who will be catching passes from the quarterbacks in Super Bowl XLII. Nowadays, running backs even have their own reception props you can bet on in the BetUS sportsbook. If you like to bet on football, you must be preparing yourself for the inevitable downswing that will follow next Sunday. You can, however, content yourself with the fact that this sportsbook has more football wagering options available to you for Super Bowl XLII than you have had available for all the games of the regular NFL betting season, combined.

New York Giants +11.5 vs. New England Patriots –11.5

Just go to the BetUS sportsbook and scroll down past the Super Bowl lines and then past the alternative Super Bowl odds. Below, in the WR Props section, you’ll find these New England Patriots starting running back prop wagers to bet on. We’ll go by the numbers on the left of the bets, called Rotation Numbers, to make it easier to follow.

Super Bowl Betting: 6:20 p.m. EST in Glendale, Arizona

Number 404/405: New England starting running back Laurence Maroney is not known as a receiving threat out of the backfield and the oddsmakers have rightfully acknowledged this by setting the over/under on his total receptions for the game at just one catch. Maroney has only caught passes in four games this season for a total of just seven. He had two in three games and one in the team’s last game, when they beat San Diego to get to the Super Bowl. Seeing as how Kevin Faulk has been more active as of late, you are probably safe taking the under here, as Maroney is rarely used in the passing game. Chances are good that if he is used, it will be just the once, and you’ll get a push.

Number 470/471: On that note, there is very good value in this second Laurence Maroney Super Bowl XLII prop. While advising you to wager that he will not even have a catch in this game, if he does catch one, you can be confident you will be adding to your bankroll. Should you decide to wager on his total yards for the game, you should take the over, as the oddsmakers have set this number low, at just eight. All of Maroney’s receptions except one have been for more than eight yards. Most have been for significantly more. His average reception is 22 yards. It doesn’t get much more straightforward than that.
