NBA Basketball Betting – New Jersey at Sacramento

The Sacramento Kings (17-22 SU, 22-16 ATS) find themselves in the role of a home favorite on Tuesday night as they take on the New Jersey Nets (18-22 SU, 15-24-1 ATS) at ARCO Arena. Tipoff time is 10 PM ET.

In the BetUS NBA betting odds, the Kings are listed at -5, with the total posted at 202 points.

In the HEAD-to-HEAD NBA basketball betting trends:

* SAC has won four of the last five meetings SU

* SAC is 3-1-1 ATS in the last five metings as the home team

* SAC has won the last five meetings SU as the home team

* Four of the last five meetings have gone OVER the total

* Seven of the last eight meetings at Sacramento have gone OVER the total

* NJ has had the shooting edge in five of the last six meetings

* NJ has had the rebounding edge in four of the last six meetings

* SAC has made more three-point shots in four of the last five meetings

New Jersey is the lowest scoring team in the NBA, tallying just 93.4 points a contest on 43.4% shooting. The Nets average 23.4 assists and 6.7 steals per game, but shoot a disappointing 72% from the free throw line. Also:

* NJ has lost its last five games SU

* NJ is 0-5 ATS in its last five games

* NJ has played four of its last six games UNDER the total

* NJ is 6-15 ATS after a SU loss

Sacramento is tenth in the league in scoring at home, with an average of 102 points a game at ARCO. The Kings hit 79.9% from the line and 45.7% from the field. They turn the ball over 16 times a game. Also:

* SAC has covered seven of its last ten games

* SAC has won five of its last seven games SU

* SAC has played five of its last seven games OVER the total

* SAC has covered two of its last seven home games

* SAC is 0-6 ATS in its last six games as the favorite

New Jersey is obviously going in a negative direction, losing and failing to get the money in five straight games. Surrendering 120 points at the Staples Center against the Clippers was truly a low-water mark, unless you ant to count two home games last week against Portland and Boston where they totaled 150 points. As usual, trade rumors are swirling, most of them surrounding Vince Carter, who apparently was offered to the New York Knicks (Isiah refused to give up Jamal Crawford).

It might be a stretch to say Sacramento has caught fire, but the Kings have definitely improved. Kevin Martin, Mike Bibby and Ron Artest - all guys who can put the ball in the hoop - are back in action. Bibby had 16 points, five rebounds, four assists in a win against Detroit last week. Now is the time when the development of the supporting players like John Salmons and Francisco Garcia and Beno Udrih may show its full benefit. Coach Reggie Theus is committed to a playoff push, though his team has a long way to go. Sacramento has won three of its last four games, all as the underdog. While it's true, that the Kings have failed to cover in their last six in the favorite's role, and are 3-6 ATS as the home favorite, most of that was when they had something less than a healthy roster.

We'll lay the points with the Kings, the five-point favorite in the BetUS NBA basketball betting odds.
