Often times turf races are the best races to wager on for the simple fact that BetUS online racebook fans can get a square price on a horse that a lot of other horseplayers might overlook.
That’s definitely the case with this Thursday’s play of the day.

In a race loaded with horses coming out of stakes races, including the morning line favorite - - Honored Gold - - who’s coming out of the Grade III Wilshire, it makes sense to look for a come-backer at nice odds who could blow up an exacta, trifecta, win, place and show wager for us.
That’s the girl I’ve pegged as my top choice in today’s 7th race at Hollywood Park.
Ainamaa - - The last two times Ainamaa has raced, she hasn’t exactly proven to be a top online racebook key horse. She finished 6th, by two lengths, in her last start in March. Now, to turf trainer Ben Cecil brings her off the bench to run in this restricted allowance. She gets Brice Blan, who’s one for 15 so far at this meet, and comes in with slowish, so-so works. So, why do I like her? Well, in seven lifetime starts Ainamaa is 2-1-1. That’s not spectacular, but most of her competition, with the exception of Moujane, all have at least twelve lifetime starts and only two wins to show for it. Also, there is an exceptional amount of speed in this race. Moujane, Ms. Wonder Woman, Silver Moonshine and Twix will all battle for the lead in this. That should put Ainamaa either at the back of the pack or just a few lengths off where Brice can time her move perfectly.
Wagering Strategy
It makes no sense to get too fancy in this race. Ainamaa should be receiving more then fair odds. That means that trying to find someone to box with her in an exacta or trifecta is like beating our heads against the wall. I’m going to be a smart online racebook bettor today and just take Ainamaa to win, place and show at what I hope to be double-digit odds.
