NCAA Football Betting - Notre Dame vs Michigan Point Spreads
By Tim Furious
Notre Dame Fighting Irish (0-2) vs. Michigan Wolverines (0-2)
Saturday, September 15th --- Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor --- 3:30pm EST
Opening NCAA Football Line: Michigan -9.5 (42)
I know, I know. Who cares, right? Though this game has no BCS implications, the Fighting Irish and the Wolverines are fighting for their very lives in this one. The winner will gain some semblance of respect (like the kind that O-Town got), while the loser might as well pack it in for the rest of the season.
Michigan’s rushing attack is ranked 38th in the nation behind the powerful plowing of Mike Hart who is averaging 6.6 yards per carry and has three touchdowns. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have managed -4 total rushing yards this season. Though their rushing defense gets the nod in this contest, the Irish can not survive on Jimmy Clausen’s young arm. Claussen has yet to score and has only managed 178 yards on 21 completions.
Look for Michigan to trust Mike Hart on the run as their secondary shuts down a one-dimensional Irish offense. They will rush lots, saving Mallett from misery and embarrassment. As much as Michigan has stunk up the scene, the Irish were bad before they even played their first game. Now they’re worse. Bet on the Wolverines in The Big House. Win number one! Yeah! This is Michigan football, baby!
