NHL Betting Playoff Picks 2008 – Eastern Conference Parlay
By Tim Furious
Washington Capitals (43-31-8) vs. Philadelphia Flyers (42-29-11)
Thursday, April 17th --- Wachovia Center, Philadelphia --- 7:00pm EST
Series Record: Phil 2-1
NHL Betting Line: Philadelphia -145
Philadelphia unleashed the hounds on Tuesday in a decisive 6-3 NHL betting frenzy win at home over the Capitals. Honestly, it was to be expected. We all know how crazy Philadelphia’s fans can be, and the Flyers are no exception. Cristobel Huet has done an admirable job in net for the Caps, but Washington is going to need more out of him. The Caps allow 2.82 goals against per game, and need to be careful not to allow Philadelphia run away with this series.
That victory, however, was the first win that Philadelphia had at home against the Capitals in the last five tries. And now that Ovechkin and company have shaken it out of their system, the Capitals will likely rebound in the face of adversity tonight against the Flyers. That means scoring, which also means the OVER.
Washington can keep up offensively. They have the seventh best road scoring average in the league with 2.8 goals per game and are adjusted the hostile environment of the Wachovia Center. This game is paramount to the Caps and their betting faithful. And when the stakes are at their highest, Ovechkin always shows up guns blazing. When the smoke clears, make sure you have more money in your pockets than when you started tonight.

Boston Bruins (41-29-12) vs. Montreal Canadiens (47-25-10)
Thursday, April 17th --- Bell Centre, Montreal --- 7:00pm EST
Series Record: Mon 3-1
NHL Betting Line: Montreal -240
Three words you’re going to have to get used to: “C’est la but!” That’s French for, “GOAAAAALLLLLL!” The Habs smell blood dripping off the playoff wounds of the Boston Bruins, and that means trouble for Boston. Not that I feel bad for Boston or their online sports betting faithful. You have the Red Sox, Boston College winning the Frozen Four, the Celtics likely winning the Eastern Conference and those damned Patriots. One of your teams had to suck, at the very least, to balance the cosmos.
Boston has gone 1-14 SU in the last 15 games when playing at the Bell Centre. Do you feel comfortable betting on them in the most difficult rink to play in the entire league? I didn’t think so.
NHL Furious Free Picks: Montreal -240 (UNDER)
