NHL Furious Free Picks – Eastern Conference Parlay
by Tim Furious
Philadelphia Flyers (39-28-10) vs. New Jersey Devils (42-28-7)
Friday, March 28th --- Prudential Center, New Jersey --- 7:00pm EST
NHL Betting Line: New Jersey -125
Philadelphia may be 4-1 SU in their past 5 games, but something happens to this team when they play New Jersey. Jersey is 5-0 SU in their past five games with Philly, and has outscored the Flyers 24-8 during those games. That’s ridiculous.

Oh, so you’re worried that the Devils have stunk it up with a five-game losing skid lately. Well I guess that’s justifiable. Who wants to bet on a loser anyways? The thing is that this could be a turnaround game for the Devils at the right time. They are caught in the midst of the cluttered Eastern Conference playoffs and are desperate for some points.
Bet on the Devils. If we know anything, it’s that Coach Sutter knows how to game plan against the Flyers. That’s evident in the scoring mismatch between the two teams this season. Ignore the current trends and concentrate on how these two teams focus on each other.
As for the O/U, Jersey plays solid defense, but Philadelphia is still a strong scoring team. They find the twine 3.03 times per game and will undoubtedly score tonight. The problem is that they can’t stop anyone, and even Jersey is capable of scoring in bundles. The UNDER is not a safe bet tonight so…

Montreal Canadiens (43-24-10) vs. Buffalo Sabres (36-30-11)
Friday, March 28th --- HSBC Arena, Buffalo --- 7:30pm EST
NHL Betting Line: Montreal -120
Even without Mike Komisarek stalking the blue line, Montreal has still managed to go 4-1 SU in the past five games. They showed some steady play against Ottawa, blowing them off the ice in a 7-5 victory. The Habs are 6-2 SU in their past 8 road game and aren’t showing any signs of slowing down.
The problem is that Buffalo has always showed up to play them hard. The Sabers are 13-5 SU in their past 18 games when playing at home against Montreal. That’s stiff odds for even the Habs. But this is now, and the problem is that Buffalo is only 2-6 SU in their own building lately. That is not good news considering how much momentum and confidence Montreal is barreling forward with.
Considering both teams’ penchant for scoring, Montreal and Buffalo are set to light the lamp all night long. Montreal has some question marks surrounding their defense, but their offense is leaving little to zero doubts. The Habs betting faithful can rest assured that Montreal will pull away in the second period as Buffalo scrambles to hit Carey Price with everything they’ve got. I just don’t have any faith in Buffalo right now. They’re simply not showing any consistency, so bet safely on Montreal.
