NFL Odds - Oakland Raiders (+10) vs. Denver Broncos (-10)

This is an NFL betting line to jump on as the Oakland Raiders actually played a very good game versus the Detroit Lions last Sunday. Denver squeaked out a win against the Buffalo Bills, but, in all honesty, didn’t look all strong.

In any case, one of the little known trends in the NFL is that the Raiders do very well against the NFL betting spread after a home game in September.

The trend is perfect this week as the Raiders historically play their rivals, the Broncos, the Chiefs and the Chargers (who are tough no matter where the game is).

So, where is your money going to go? It’s a no-brainer. Getting 10 points against the spread on an Oakland Raider team after a home loss against a Denver Bronco team that just might not be as good offensively as they were last year is almost a gift.

Remember, the Raider’s defense is still very good. Sure, they gave up a ton of points versus the Detroit Lions last Sunday, but the Lions have tons of weapons. The Broncos shouldn’t come close to scoring as many points against the Oakland Raiders as the Lions did.

Also, the Raiders bring in a much improved offense over the Aaron Brooks led disaster of last year. No matter what your personal feelings are about either Josh McCown or Daunte Culpepper, you have to agree that they are both a step up from Mr. Brooks.

Oakland may have found a new star at wide receiver as Ronald Curry caught the ball ten times last week for 133 yards and 1 touchdown. LaMont Jordan averaged 4.7 yards per carry. McCown threw two picks, but still completed over 70% of his passes.

True, the Bronco’s defense is much better than the Lions’ D, but that shouldn’t bother you.

Check out the scores from last year’s games:

Denver 13, Oakland 3

Denver 17, Oakland 14

What these scores show is that the Raiders played Denver tough in last year’s games with a terrible offense and a young defense. It makes no sense to bet Denver –10 against the spread in this game when there is some doubt as to whether Denver will muster two touchdowns against Oakland.

If the Raiders improve just a bit on the offensive side of the ball this Sunday, they might even steal the game. In any case, the BetUS football betting line of +10 for the Raiders is something that should fire up any NFL bettor.
