NFL Futures Wagering - Peyton Manning Props

One would find it hard to imagine Peyton Manning approaching his Ruthian 2004 season, when he tossed 49 touchdown passes with over 4500 passing yards to his credit. In the last two seasons his production has been "down" to 28 and 31 TD passes, respectively. I would expect that figure could go higher, as Manning has wide receivers Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison returning, along with tight ends Ben Utecht and Dallas Clark.
What is important about Manning and what he will have at his disposal is that Anthony Gonzalez, who the Colts drafted out of Ohio State, is a receiver with good size who will fit into the slot position and assume the role of Brandon Stokely. While Ted Ginn got some Heisman talk for the last couple of seasons, it was Gonzalez who emerged as the Buckeyes' most reliable pass catcher.
And there can't be any doubt that Manning will have much more confidence from the outset of the season in Joseph Addai than he did when Addai was a raw rookie, now that the former LSU first-rounder was not just a 1000-yard back, but a standout in the Super Bowl. Dominic Rhodes has departed, leaving Addai as the clear feature back. Whether that will push Manning's total yards upward remains to be seen, because maybe it just means an increase in what Addai produces.
Either way, it will amount to a lot of points once again being scored by Indianapolis, under Manning and the most underrated offensive coordinator of recent years, Tom Moore. The only question is - by what route will that scoring take place?
Remember another thing - in a four-team division, the Colts have a chance to clinch early, and depending on what the home field situation is in the playoffs, Manning could have his time severely limited in the last couple of weeks of the season. That will obviously impact season-long totals.
