NFL Football Betting – Ryan Grant’s Rushing Yards
By Charles Jay
Will Ryan Grant continue his hot running in the cold weather on Sunday, when the Green Bay Packers host the New York Giants in the NFC Championship Game, where the Pack is favored by 7.5 points in the BetUS NFL football betting odds?

Under 95.5 yards -120
When Brett Favre went to camp, he figured he was going to have to throw enough to practically wear his right arm out. Favre also knew that when January came, if his team wanted to get to the playoffs and advance through them, it was going to have to have a running game. But all Green Bay had competing for a job in the backfield were youngsters Vernand Morency and Brandon Jackson.
No one saw Ryan Grant coming. Not Favre. Not us. Not the people at Notre Dame, where following a 1000-yard season in 2002, Grant lost his job to Julius Jones. Not the very same Giant team Green Bay will face on Sunday, which dealt him away. And certainly not the people who evaluate personnel around the NFL.
Grant was acquired by Green Bay a week before the start of the regular season. Here are a couple of quotes from the story in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel announcing the deal:
"The Packers must have seen something they liked in the guy," a personnel director for an NFC team said Saturday night. "You're not talking about a guy who will hit you with the 'wow' factor. I think you're talking about a stopgap more than anything."
Also...
One scout said, "There's some guys on the street that have better reps (reputations) than Grant."
Wow.
The Packers were doing alright without a running game, that's for sure. But the minute Grant established himself as the team's #1 running back, it became a legitimate Super Bowl contender. In Week 8 Grant became the starter, an he has averaged 103 yards a game since. He had a total of 956 yards in the regular season, and exploded for 201 against Seattle in the snow last week. At his pace, he would have led the league in rushing.
And though Favre is, well, Favre, Grant is hardly a change of pace; to this reporter, he's the key man in the bitter cold of Green Bay this weekend. And maybe there's a little bitterness toward his hometown Giants (Grant comes from North Jersey) for telling him he had finally made the team after a season on the practice squad, only to deal him to Green Bay. The good thing for him is, it's not as if the Giants can gear up their defense to stop him, because Favre and his receivers are too dangerous, especially in yards after the catch.
Will Grant go "over" the 95.5 yards, as posted in the BetUS NFL football betting props? You bet he will.
