The Seattle Seahawks (8-4 SU, 7-4-1 ATS) have an opportunity to clinch the NFC West on Sunday when they host the Arizona Cardinals (6-6 SU, 7-4-1 ATS) at Qwest Field in Seattle (artificial turf). Kickoff time is 4:05 PM EST.

In the BetUS NFL betting odds, the Seahawks are listed at -7.5, with the over/under posted at 44.5 points.

Here are some NFL betting stats and trends relative to this matchup:

* ARIZ is 13-5-1 ATS in its last 19 games

* ARIZ is 10-2-1 ATS in its last 13 as an underdog

* ARIZ has won six of its last 25 road games SU

* ARIZ has played 13 of its last 18 games OVER the total

* SEA has won and covered five of its last six games

* SEA has won six of its last seven home games SU

* SEA has played six of its last eight home games UNDER the total

* SEA has covered five of the last six meetings at home

* SEA has won seven of the last ten meetings SU

* Six of the last seven meetings have gone OVER the total

Revenge is on Seattle's mind, as well as the chance to clinch the NFC West. In the second week of the season, Arizona won by a 23-20 count. That was when the Cards had a healthy defense. Now safety Adrian Wilson, cornerback Eric Green and defensive end Bertrand Berry are all out of action. This has a resulted in a surge of "overs" for the Arizona side; the last four games have totaled 52, 62, 68 and 48 points.

Seattle, with its deep wide receiver contingent relatively healthy, and Shaun Alexander now splitting carries with Maurice Morris in the backfield, Matt Hasselbeck (62%, 20 TD's, 10 INT's) should have a lot of room to operate. Berry's presence will not be felt in the Arizona pass rush, and that is one area that has taken a bit of a dive.

Yeah, the Seahawks' offense should take care of its end, and the trends, which have seen the Cardinals play 13 of 18 games and six of the last seven meetings over the total, point this in the direction of "O" first, and "D" a distant second. We'll go OVER the total of 44.5 points, as posted in the BetUS football betting odds.
