NFL Betting Trends – Chicago Bears (+5.5) at Philadelphia Eagles (-5.5)

The Chicago Bears, (2-4 SU, 1-5 ATS, 4-2 O/U) are ranked 28th in overall offense, averaging 287.7 yards and 19.7 points per game. The Bears’ stellar defense from a season ago is now ranked 27th overall, allowing 361.3 yards and 24.8 points per game. Minnesota Vikings rookie running back Adrian Peterson shredded Chicago’s once vaunted defense for 224 yards and three touchdowns to help the Vikings beat the Bears 34-31 on a last-second field goal.
The Philadelphia Eagles, (2-3 SU, 2-3 ATS, 1-4 O/U) are ranked ninth in overall offense, averaging 352.4 yards and 20.0 points per game. Philadelphia is ranked seventh in overall defense, allowing 292.6 yards and 16.4 points per game. The Eagles are coming off a ho-hum 16-9 win over the lowly New York Jets.

Analysis: The Eagles were one of my “locks” last week and while they won and covered as I predicted, this week is a different story. While each team here has underachieved all season long, I like the Bears to cover the high, 5.5-point spread here – and possibly win outright.
