Super Bowl Betting Props – Plaxico Burress Props
By Russell Edward
New York’s receiving corps has had an up and down season that has been consistent in the way it has gotten progressively better as Eli Manning has started playing safer football, as is evidenced by the lack of postseason INTs he has thrown after tying for the most in the regular season. In the BetUS sportsbook, we have tons of Super Bowl XLII betting props on pretty much every Giants receiver that will play on Sunday and you, the football betting public, continue to reap the benefits. For those of us who love to bet on the NFL, this is our last, real chance for until next season. We are going to try to pad your bankroll enough to keep you betting for fun right through the offseason on our baseball lines, tennis odds and even pretty much every UFC and boxing fight that happens.
New York Giants +11.5 vs. New England Patriots –11.5
Let’s focus on the Giants receiver with the crazy name, Plaxico Burress, for now, however, while we still can. Just go to the BetUS sportsbook and scroll down past the Super Bowl lines and then past the alternative Super Bowl odds. Below, in the WR Props section, you’ll find these New York Giants receivers prop wagers to bet on. We’ll go by the numbers on the left of the bets, called Rotation Numbers, to make it easier to follow.
Super Bowl Betting: 6:20 p.m. EST in Glendale, Arizona
Number 418/419: Amazingly, Burress has been playing on a sore ankle all season long, rarely even practicing, and yet still had a great year. He has 86 catches for 1,219 yards in his 19 games so far and had a career day in the NFC title game in Green Bay, where he had 11 catches for 151 yards. Of course, sore ankles don’t bother you nearly as much when they are frozen almost solid in the subzero temperatures of Wisconsin. In the desert heat of Arizona, Burress should be more of his regular self and haul in three or four passes. The over/under is set for 4.5 total receptions and your bankroll should be leaning under.
Number 460/461: This prop on Burress’s total reception yards for Super Bowl XLII has the over/under set at 78.5. On average this season, Burress has accumulated 64.2 yards per game. One way of looking at this prop is to see that, in order to hit the over, at 79 yards or more, Burress would have to catch for a 22% higher yardage total than his average yards per game. Another way is to see how many games (8) he had 79 or more yards receiving out of his 19 games played. This way shows that there is a 58% chance of Plaxico being under 79 yards on the day. Both signs point to taking the under.
