Bet on NFL – Green Bay to Send Seattle Packing

Green Bay has been surprising all season long, but it should come as no surprise that the NFL betting line for this home game has the Pack favored by eight points against an up-and-down Seahawks team that struggled to win the NFC West. Led by three-time league MVP Brett Favre, who is playing as well as he ever has since he entered the league in the early Nineties, the Packers have one of the more balanced attacks in the NFL and will test Seattle’s hard-nosed defense all game long.

Seattle Seahawks +8 at Green Bay Packers –8

It is amazing that the Packers run game must now be considered superior to that fielded by the Seahawks, especially since the Pack started the first few games of the season ranked dead last in the NFL Betting. They finished ranked as the 21st-best run offense, but that is selling running back Ryan Grant short. Grant finished the second half of the season with a flurry of 100-plus yard games and almost reached the 1000-yard milestone even though he did not carry the ball even 200 times. His play has elevated the entire offense as oppositions now have to very much respect his ability not only between the tackles, but on the edges as well. He has shown over and over that he can explode for a big gain from any point of the field.

Brett Favre has played smarter ball this season than he has since Mike Holmgren left Green Bay to take over the football operations in Seattle. The result has been success in the win column, but Favre will have to stay focused against a defense coached by the man who knows his tendencies so well. This Seahawks secondary is hard-hitting, ball-hawking and is very good at showing coverage then coming in on a hard blitz. The Green Bay tackles will have to be prepared for the rushes from the edge, because if they fail at this task, the Pack will be forced to bring in two tight end sets to counter, and that will take away from Favre’s targets downfield.

The Packers ability to cover this eight-point football betting spread could very well lie in Brett’s ability to soften up Seattle CB Marcus Trufant with soft passes underneath. Keep an eye out for this during first half of the game. If you see it happening and Favre does not try to burn Trufant deep in the first half, it means he is playing smart and you might want to take the Packers on the halftime line in the BetUS sportsbook, because you just know Favre will take him for a touchdown, and that will be the one extra you need to win your bet.
