Bet on NFL – Niners Open Door For Bengals

This Saturday night game pits two of the most disappointing teams in the NFL this 2007 football betting season against each other. The home team Niners have won just one game at home, while the visiting Bengals have just one road victory thus far into this campaign. The talent that the Bengals have in the passing game should allow Cincy to improve their road record this weekend.

Cincinnati Bengals –10 at San Francisco 49ers +10

Last week, the running combo of Rudi and DeDe gained a very respectable 173 rushing yards against the Rams for the Bengals, with Rudi Johnson playing the workhorse with 23 carries. Somehow the Niners last week managed to limit Vikings rookie sensation Adrian Peterson to just three yards on 14 carries, but Peterson was amply backed up by Chester Taylor, who made good for 101 yards on eight totes. However, one of those runs was an 83-yarder. When you take that run out of the equation, you see that San Fran did great against the vaunted Minnesota rushing attack, allowing just 21 yards on 21 carries. This week, barring a collapse like the one that allowed Taylor’s long score, the Niners run defense should be able to keep Rudi and DeDe from doing much damage.

It is in the passing attack where San Fran will have problems and where Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer can shine against a secondary that will give him favorable matchups to exploit with his great group of wideouts. He won’t have to worry too much about pas protection against this group of Niners either, as they have not been at all consistent since LB Manny Lawson went out on IR.

If the Niners are going to be able to remain close to Cincy in this game, Frank Gore will need to provide help for whoever is lining up under center. Gore will again be hampered by the fact that he has lost two of his top linemen and Larry Allen just can’t pick up that slack like he used to be able to do. Also, because of the lack of real threat from the San Fran passing game, Cincy will be able to put an extra defender against the run on early downs, making Gore’s task all that much tougher.

This will be another in a long series of long days for fans who get a little NFL betting action in on the Niners in the BetUS sportsbook. Cincy just has too many weapons and, although the team has struggled this season, the 49ers should offer little resistance.
