NCAA March Madness Odds - BetUS Future Book Offering Nice Prices on Top Teams
By D.S. Williamson
It’s always a good idea to get your future book wagers on teams to win the NCAA Tournament in before the first Thursday game is in the books. Why? Because you won’t get better odds than what BetUS is offering right now.
The NCAAB odds on all of the top seeds are pretty good. There are some long-shots as well in the BetUS future book who have excellent shots at winning the Big Dance. Of course, I mean excellent based on the odds being offered.
Get your bets down early. Once North Carolina and UCLA win that first game by 40 points I guarantee you that the future book odds will change dramatically.
Here’s who I like with their BetUS future book odds - -
To Win the NCAA Men’s Championship Outright
UCLA Bruins - - BetUS odds + 400 - - 4 to 1 seems low, right? Uh, no. The Bruins are the top team in the tournament. Hands down. I will be very surprised if they don’t make it to the championship. I will be ultra-surprised if they don’t make it to the Final Four. This team is loaded in every position and nobody can coach better than Ben Howland. Forget it. Take the 4 to 1 and watch it come through big-time.
North Carolina Tar Heels - - BetUS odds + 400 - - I see the Tar Heels and the Bruins duking it out for all the marbles. Why not bet them both? The odds on both allow you to make a tidy profit by splitting your bank-roll between both of them. Or, you could go with one of my long-shot picks for less money. Spreading around in futures can lead to glory sometimes.
Louisville Cardinals - - BetUS odds + 1600 - - Rick Pitino will get these guys to play hard. They have a terrific front-court and their back-court is underrated. They are the most likely team from the Big East to make it to the Final Four. That makes them the most likely team from the Big East to win the championship.
Texas Longhorns - - BetUS odds + 1500 - - They get the slow-footed Stanford Cardinal in their bracket and is there a better team designed to upset the Memphis Tigers in the South Region then these guys? Probably not. Texas has what it takes to go all the way this year.
Wisconsin Badgers - - BetUS odds + 2000 - - 20 to 1 odds on one of the best defensive teams in the entire tournament. They also get to play in the Mid-West Region where Georgetown is a two and Kansas is a one. I like Wisconsin more than either one of those teams.
Clemson Tigers - - BetUS odds + 4000 - - They get to play the Kansas Jayhawks early before facing the Wisconsin Badgers. That’s my prediction anyhow. Another team in the Mid-West Region who could upset Kansas’s run to the Final Four.
Pittsburgh Panthers - - BetUS odds + 2500 - - Nobody is playing better and the Panthers, like the Texas Longhorns, match-up well against the mighty Memphis Tigers in the South Region. The odds are certainly tasty, Becky!
Michigan State Spartans - - BetUS odds + 5000 - - Another team from the South Region who can beat the Memphis Tigers. Hmm…is there a trend here? Is it me or does it feel like the Tigers and Jayhawks sort of got shafted? With a player like Drew Neitzel there’s no telling how far the Spartans can go. Of course, playing Pitt in the second-round will go a long way in deciding that.
Kentucky Wildcats - - BetUS odds + 15000 - - Kentucky is this years’ super-duper dark horse. I think they have a shot, an outside shot, but a shot nonetheless to become one of the biggest upset winners of the NCAA Tournament in the history of the sport. At 150 to 1 there’s no reason not to bet it, right?
***Who I Don’t Like
Duke Blue Devils - - BetUS odds + 1400 - - Tough bracket. Watch the AZ Wildcats beat this team in the second round.
Memphis Tigers - - BetUS odds + 650 - - The South is loaded for bear. Pitt, Michigan State and Texas all have legitimate shots to beat Memphis. Then there’s Kentucky who is a viable long-shot.
Kansas Jayhawks - - BetUS odds + 500 - - Everybody likes Kansas. I don’t dislike them. I just don’t think they have what it takes, mentally, to beat the likes of a Clemson or Wisconsin.
Stanford Cardinal - - BetUS odds + 2000 - - Overrated, overrated, overrated. That’s all I can say about those genius, Disney-loving, freaks.
Tennessee Volunteers - - BetUS odds + 1600 - - I’m not drinking the Bruce Pearl Kool-Aid. Sure, they can apply pressure, but what happens when they meet a team that can run right through pressure? They will lose. That’s what will happen.
Georgetown Hoyas - - BetUS odds + 1600 - - They got the worst draw imaginable. They might have to play Davidson in the second round. Then, in the third round they will probably have to face the Wisconsin Badgers. After that they get to play either Clemson or Kansas in the Elite Eight. I don’t think they make it that far.
