Colorado deserves quite a bit of credit for yesterday's 91-84 double overtime win over Baylor, achieved behind 54% shooting and 59 points from the emerging guard tandem of Richard Roby and Marcus Hall. Of course, they were able to take advantage of a Baylor team that couldn't go to a "Plan B" with an inside game. That is not the case with Oklahoma, which comes at the opponent with big people.
However, center Longar Longar has not been so dominant since coming back from injury - averaging just eight points and five rebounds since coming back from injury. And Blake Griffin, the sensational freshman forward, is available but just coming off arthroscopic knee surgery.
And even thought it is admittedly hard to come back from a double OT game to play the next day, there is an extra mobilizing factor for the Buffs here. After a previous 14-point Colorado home win, Oklahoma coach Jeff Capel described it as “The most embarrassing thing I’ve ever been a part of.” Colorado is understandably angry at that expression of disrespect.
"That's extreme motivation," according to Buffs' guard Dwight Thorne. His backcourt mates, Roby and Hall, are going to be hard to match up with, having each scored 19 points in the previous meeting.
We're going to grab the points with Colorado, the nine-point underdog in the BetUS NCAAB betting odds.
