NCAA Basketball Betting - WRIGHT STATE at BUTLER
By Charles Jay
BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds: BUTLER -12, Total 114.5
The Butler Bulldogs (25-3 SU, 13-13-1 ATS) will go about trying to avenge its first loss of the season tonight, as they play host to the Raiders of Wright State (20-7 SU, 12-12-1 ATS) in a Horizon League showdown set to begin at 9 PM ET at the Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
In the BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds, Butler is listed as a 12-point favorite, with a total of 114.5 points.
Here are some of the NCAA basketball betting trends as they relate to this matchup:
* WSU is 1-3-1 ATS in its last five games
* WSU is 2-5-1 ATS in its last eight games
* WSU has won 11 of its last 12 games SU

* BUT has made more three-pointers in seven of the last ten meetings
Wright State has won three straight in the series, and that includes an oh-so-slow 43-42 victory at home which constituted Butler's first loss of the season. So this is a revenge match. And further retribution is sought for the heart-breaking home loss Butler suffered in the bracket-buster game against Drake.
But not so fast. Butler may be ranked 13th in the USA Today poll and 14th in the AP, but the Bulldogs haven't racked up many wins against strong opposition, when you come to think of it. The early-season tournament wins came against teams like Michigan, Virginia Tech, Texas Tech and Ohio State, all of whom could miss the Big Dance. And Wright State is still building its credentials for a possible at-large bid, a case that would be strengthened with a win here.
Let's not forget that Wright State has a nice run of its own going, winning 11 straight before the defeat to Illinois State this past weekend; that it hasn't tasted pointspread defeat in the last seven road games, that it has veterans in the backcourt, that it is very good at controlling the pace, and that coach Brad Brownell obviously knows how to match up against this opponent.
Butler may get revenge, but it won't be easy at all.
We'll take the points with Wright State, the 12-point underdog in the BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds.
