NCAA Football Betting Trends - Virginia Tech Hokies vs. Clemson Tigers

Clemson Memorial Stadium and the NCAA football betting world will be rocking on Saturday when the No. 15 Virginia Tech Hokies (+5½) come calling against the No. 22 Clemson Tigers (-5½) who'll be looking to atone last week's loss to Georgia Tech.
The 13-3 money-dropping road defeat as the field goal favorites to the Yellow Jackets was the Tiger's first straight up loss on the year as they're now 4-1 and 2-2 ATS (against the spread). The Tigers are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games overall.

Quarterback Cullen Harper was sacked six times, completed just 17-of-39 passes for 194 yards and threw his first interception of the season. The Tigers managed only 228 yards of total offense against the Yellow Jackets in the loss.
While Clemson had it handed to them, Virginia Tech downed North Carolina 17-10 but failed to cover the number as the 19-point favorites.

Virginia Tech's defense ranks second in the ACC with 15 points allowed per game, and the offense puts up 22.6.
As for Clemson, the defense is allowing just 17.4 points per game, while the offense is putting up a modest 31.2 points per game.
Clemson leads the all-time series 17-11-1 straight up, but Virginia Tech has won the last four meetings straight up and ATS including last year's 24-7 cover win as the 4-point home underdogs.
NCAA football odds list Clemson the 5½-point favorites with a total of 40½.
