NCAA Big East Basketball Betting - St. John’s at Georgetown

While the Georgetown Hoyas, (22-4 SU, 10-13 ATS, 7-16 O/U), are looking for a big finish to their regular season as the annual Big East and NCAA Tournaments quickly approach, the St. John’s Red Storm, (10-16 SU, 9-13 ATS, 8-14 O/U), are just trying to get their respectability back any way they can.
While the Hoyas have won two straight coming into this contest including a 73-53 rout of Cincinnati on Sunday, the Red Storm has dropped four consecutive games and seven of their last ten overall, including an embarrassing 86-56 loss at Duke on Saturday.
"My team plays hard all the time," St. John's coach Norm Roberts said. "I just can't make freshmen juniors."
The Hoyas are ranked fourth in the nation in defense, holding their opponents to a measly 57.3 points per game on 36.0 percent shooting from the field, which ranks them first in the country.
However, the Hoyas have struggled on offense – and more importantly for bettors – against the spread nearly all season long.
"We know our offense is going to be there," junior guard Jesse Sapp said. "We just want to focus more on the defensive end."
The Red Storm will likely have big trouble scoring against the Hoyas’ vaunted defense as they are averaging just 62.2 points per game on 40.3 percent shooting while allowing 66.1 points per game on 43.5 percent shooting.
The Hoyas are averaging 70.1 points per game on 48.4 percent shooting.

Analysis: The Hoyas will undoubtedly win – and will win big despite their inconsistent offense. Take Georgetown to cover in a rout of the lowly Red Storm.
