NCAA Basketball Betting – Kansas at Kansas State
By Charles Jay
The second-ranked Kansas Jayhawks (20-0 SU, 12-5-1 ATS) may find a tough opponent in store for them on Wednesday night when they visit Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, KS to play the Kansas State Wildcats (14-4 SU< 7-5 ATS) in a Big 12 contest that tips off at 8 PM ET.
In the BetUS NCAA basketball betting odds, the Jayhawks are listed as a seven-point favorite.
Here are some of the NCAAB betting trends relative to this matchup:
* KAN has covered four of its last five games
* KAN has played six of its last seven gams OVER the total
* KAN is 15-7-1 ATS in its last 23 road games
* KAN has played 10 of its last 15 road games UNDER the total
* K-ST has won its last five games SU
* K-ST has covered its last four games
* K-ST has won its last seven home games SU
* K-ST has played four of its last six games OVER the total
* KAN has won 24 of the last 25 meetings SU
* KAN has covered 17 of the last 23 meetings
* Four of the last five meetings have gone UNDER the total
* KAN has had the shooting edge in each of the last ten meetings
* KAN has had the rebounding edge in seven of the last eight meetings
* KAN has made more three-pointers in five of the last seven meetings
Kansas State is one of those teams that might be trouble for somebody come tournament time, because freshman like Michael Beasley and Bill Walker will have had that much more playing time under their belt. Then again, right now the Wildcats are dependent on first-year players. And thus the question arises as to whether K-State may have to chalk this up to a learning experience against a more seasoned, deeper Kansas squad that has posted a 12-5-1 ATS record on the road.
Brandon Rush is very much back in the rotation for the Jayhawks. He registered 17 points in Saturday's 84-49 rout of Nebraska. But Beasley has been setting a blistering pace, averaging 28 points in his last five games. Walker has also stepped up with 30-point efforts against California and Xavier.
Kansas State has lost 24 of the last 25 against Kansas. And they can be error-prone (16.5 TO's/game). But after being blown away by 27 points in Lawrence, they hung tough, losing the rematch by nine points and just six points in the conference tourney. And Kansas has not blown tournament-level teams on the road, beating USC by four, Georgia Tech by five and Missouri by six.
They won't blow Kansas State off the court, because the Wildcats are used to a high-octane game. Let's grab the points with Kansas State, the seven-point underdogs in the BetUS NCAA basketball betting odds.
