NCAA Basketball Betting - VIRGINIA at GEORGIA TECH

BetUS NCAA basketball betting odds: GEORGIA TECH -4.5, Total 155

The Virginia Cavaliers (13-13 SU, 11-10 ATS) will have to win at least one or two more games if they want to get to the NIT. On Monday night they get a good opportunity when they travel to Atlanta to face off against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (12-15 SU, 12-13 ATS) in an Atlantic Coast Conference game that is set to tip off at 7 PM ET at the Alexander Memorial Coliseum.

In the BetUS NCAAB betting odds, Georgia Tech is listed as a 4.5-point favorite, with a total of 155 points.

Here are some of the NCAA college basketball betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

* VA has covered four of its last five games

* VA has lost eight of its last 10 games SU

* VA has played five of its last seven games UNDER the total

* VA has covered one of its last eight road games

* VA has played 15 of its last 21 road games UNDER the total

* GT has covered two of its last six games

* GT has lost five of its last six games SU

* GT has played 10 of its last 14 games OVER the total

* GT has played four of its last five home games OVER the total

* GT has covered 19 of the last 23 meetings

* GT has won 16 of the last 20 meetings SU

* GT is 11-0-1 ATS in the last 12 meetings as the home team

* GT has won 11 of the last 12 meetings SU as the home team

* GT has had the shooting edge in eight of the last nine meetings

This is a "write-in' game, which was originally scheduled for February 21 but could not take place due to a leak in the roof at Alexander Memorial Coliseum.

Sean Singletary is fired up for the Cavs, averaging 22.4 ppg over his last eight, including a 41-point eruption against Miami on Saturday, Still, however, Virginia has won only two of those eight games. The scoring is not often balanced, though it must be noted that in a 92-82 loss to Georgia Tech on January 27, in which Singletary had just 11 points, there were five Virginia players in double figures.

You've got to admire Georgia Tech a little bit, in that even after blowing a big second-half lead against Wake Forest on Saturday, the Yellow Jackets came back to win in overtime. Before that, they had lost six of their last seven games at home, however, and Virginia is the team that has shown more consistency in shooting, with over 47% in its last three games, two of which were chalked up into the "win' column (against Boston College and North Carolina State), and the other being a narrow two-point loss to Miami.

We acknowledge the thorough dominance Georgia Tech has had in this series, covering 11 of the last 12 meetings in their own building, as well as 19 of the last 23 overall. Still, this is not a team Virginia is going to suffer against much on the boards, and they can put up enough points behind Singletary to give themselves a chance.

We'll take the points with Virginia, the 4.5-point underdog in the BetUS NCAAB betting odds.
