NCAAB Wagering - UCLA (predict: - 4) vs. California (predict: + 4)

Cal proved that they are going to be a force to reckon with in the Pac-10 this year as they absolutely took it to the USC Trojans the other night. Now, though, they face one of the top five teams in the nation in the UCLA Bruins. How will they respond?

Maybe, some of these trends will help us figure that out:

The California Golden Bears are 4 and 0 against the spread in their last 4 games following an against the spread win.

The California Golden Bears are 7 and 1 against the spread in their last home games.

The UCLA Bruins are 7-3-2 against the spread in their last 12 overall games.

Not a single trend above is all that overwhelming. So, like the Arizona game, it will do is well to pay attention to the line movement throughout the day.

UCLA is a better team than California but these Pac-10 games tend to turn on one or two plays. With the expected low against the spread line in this one, it would do college basketball bettors well to see how that line changes.

For instance, if the money starts pouring in for UCLA, then I would take a hard look at the Cal. Two of the above trends say that they will find a way to stay close in this game.

If the money starts pouring in on Cal, then I would look at UCLA. In the Bruins’ last game they sported Stanford a six point lead on the road and then came storming back to win the game by nine points.

That’s the type of team UCLA is. They can turn it on in a moment’s notice which makes them a terrific play, like the trend indicates, to win more games against the spread then lose games against the spread.

If the spread stays around 4 points then I like UCLA anything higher will lead me to Cal.
