NCAA Basketball Betting - Notre Dame at Louisville

BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds: LOUISVILLE -8, Total 142.5

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish (21-5 SU, 10-13 ATS) will hook up with the Louisville Cardinals (22-6 SU, 15-9-1 ATS) in a matchup of Bog East titans that will tip off at 7 PM ET at Freedom Hall in Louisville.

In the BetUS NCAA basketball betting odds, Louisville is listed as an eight-point favorite, with a total of 142.5 points.

Here are some of the NCAA college basketball betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

* ND has won eight of its last nine games SU

* ND has played 11 of its last 12 games OVER the total

* ND has covered two of its last seven road games

* ND has played five of its last six road games OVER the total

* LOU has won and covered its last seven games

* LOU has covered five of its last six home games

* LOU has played seven of its last eight home games UNDER the total

* ND has covered the last two meetings

Louisville sits atop the Big East right now, right with Georgetown, who played and won last night. As they move into this one, they are the hottest team in the conference. And of course, everything changed when Rick Pitino's front line got a little healthier. David Padgett, who is considered a good candidate to be a first-round draft choice, has come up big in some big games, hitting for 18 points in what was considered an upset win over the Hoyas and 21 points in the last game, a victory at Pittsburgh, which if you follow the Panthers at the Petersen Center, is no easy feat.

Padgett's presence, and his production on in the inside (4.7 rebounds per game, and 1.4 blocks) is especially important because a staple of Notre Dame's attack is to get the ball to Luke Harangody, who will certainly be a major contender for the conference's player of the year award. More critically, there is board-banging by committee, as the Cardinals can throw Derrick Caracter and Juan Palacios at the opposition as well.

However, is there any perceived letup on the Notre Dame side? It appears the Irish are hot as well, losing only to U-Conn in its last nine contests. And Notre Dame is more than +4 in rebounding margin on the road. True, the Irish hasn't done its best work on the road, but this is a big enough impost for them to slip under.

We'll take the points with Notre Dame, the eight-point underdog in the BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds.
