NCAA Basketball Betting - Nebraska at Texas

BetUS NCAA basketball betting odds: TEXAS -14.5, Total 129

The Nebraska Cornhuskers (17-10 SU, 7-12 ATS) regressed a bit in their last outing. On Tuesday night they'll have a chance to redeem themselves on the road, as they take on the Texas Longhorns (24-5 SU, 14-9-1 ATS) in a Big 12 game set to tip off at 7:30 PM ET at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin.

In the BetUS NCAAB betting odds, Texas is listed as a 14.5-point favorite, with a total of 129 points.

Here are some of the NCAA basketball betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

* NEB has won and covered two of its last 13 road games

* TEX has covered five of its last six games

* TEX has won eight of its last nine games

* TEX has played four of its last six games UNDER the total

* TEX has won and covered its last five home games

* TEX has played eight of its last nine home games UNDER the total

* TEX has won the last six meetings SU

* NEB has covered four of the last six meetings

* Three of the last four meetings have gone UNDER the total

* NEB has covered four of the last six meetings as the road team

* TEX has won the last five meetings SU as the home team

* TEX has had the shooting edge in four of the last six meetings

* TEX has had the rebounding edge in five of the last six meetings

* TEX has made more three-pointers in four of the last five meetings

Nebraska, which had played very well in a road win over Texas A&M and upsets over Kansas State and Oklahoma, was decisively beaten 77-63 by Oklahoma State on Saturday. The Huskers struggle to put points on the board when not in Lincoln, as they average less than 59 points a game, which is 296th in Division I basketball.

Texas would have to be an ornery bunch right now, as they went to Lubbock this past weekend and lost by three points to a Texas Tech team that was just swamped by 58 points at Kansas. But it was tough to argue with the Longhorns' run of eight straight wins before that. Texas still tops the list of all division I clubs when it comes to taking care of the ball, and indeed it's no surprise that with All-American DJ Augustin handling the ball, they cough it up only 9.6 times per contest.

Nebraska's stock-in-trade has been defense, as the Huskers have limited teams to just 38% shooting. But Texas, at 39%, isn't far behind. The real question here is focus. When the game has the Horns' full attention, they are difficult to touch. Tennessee found that out, as did UCLA and Kansas. Coming off a defeat, and at home, where they have won 16 of 17 (the lone loss to Wisconsin), we expect the Longhorns to bounce back in a big way.

We will lay the points with Texas, the 14.5-point favorite in the BetUS NCAA basketball betting odds.
