NCAA Basketball Wagering - LOUISVILLE at GEORGETOWN

BetUS NCAA college basketball betting matchup:

Two teams who have already punched their ticket tot he NCAA tournament will tangle on Saturday when the Louisville Cardinals (24-6 SU, 16-10-1 ATS) tackle the Georgetown Hoyas (24-4 SU, 11-14 ATS) in Big East action that is slated to start at Noon ET at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC.

It is a rematch of Louisville's 59-51 victory on February 9, which signaled the Cards' legitimacy as a Big East title contender.

Here are some of the NCAA basketball betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

* LOU has covered eight of its last nine games

* LOU has won its last nine games SU

* LOU has played four of its last six games OVER the total

* LOU has won five of its last six road games SU

* LOU is 5-0-1 ATS in its last six road games

* LOU has played five of its last seven road games OVER the total

* GEO has covered three of its last nine games

* GEO has won 11 of its last 13 games SU

* GEO has played nine of its last 12 games UNDER the total

* GEO has covered one of its last six home games

* GEO has won its last 15 home games SU

* GEO has played five of its last six home games UNDER the total

The winner of this game will be the Big East regular season champion, though both will get first-round byes in the conference tournament.

Louisville, with nine straight wins, has about as much momentum right now as any team in the country. The third win on that streak came against the Hoyas on February 9, and in that game the Cardinals' pressure defense forced Georgetown into 15 turnovers, more than two more than their season average. we would expect that same kind of approach once again. And if there is a chink in the armor for Georgetown, it may with the quickness of its guards.

One of the differences between Louisville and some of the other teams Georgetown has faced is that Rick Pitino's team can throw a genuine big man at All-America center Roy Hibbert, in the person of David Padgett, who is shooting 68% with 1.4 blocked shots in just 23 minutes a game. Louisville demonstrated in the first meeting that it is especially dangerous in the second half, as it came back from an eight-point deficit at halftime to win by eight points.

We will take the points with Louisville in the BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds.
