College Basketball Betting - Georgia at Vanderbilt
by Charles Jay
BetUS NCAA basketball betting matchup:
The Georgia Bulldogs (12-12 SU, 10-9-1 ATS) are less concerned about making the NCAA tournament field than they are in catapulting themselves over the .500 mark. They will try to do that on Saturday when they take the trip to Nashville to play the Vanderbilt Commodores (22-4 SU, 12-13 ATS), a team that has hops for a very high NCAA seed, in a Southeastern Conference game that will tip off at 4 PM ET at the Memorial Gymnasium.

In the last meeting, a 67-59 Vanderbilt win in Athens, the 'Dores were able to spread the ball around pretty good, as Alex Gordon produced 14 points, with Shan Foster and Ross Nettner scoring 13 each. But Vanderbilt was only able to make 36% of its shots from beyond the three-point arc, and if that happens again we're looking at a tightly-contested affair.
That's because Georgia has managed to do a better defensive job on its foes lately, if you consider lower-scoring games to be indicative of better defense. The Bulldogs have managed to keep things close with Tennessee (74-71 loss) and Kentucky (61-55 defeat), and would probably have been closer to Florida (ten-point loss) if they hadn't committed 20 turnovers.
It's tough to say anything disparaging about Vanderbilt, but the Commodores may be a bit distracted for this one, as they have Tennessee, and a chance to avenge a previous 20-point loss, on tap in three days.
We'll look for Georgia to slow things a bit in an attempt to stay within striking distance, resulting in a cover of the sizable impost. Go with Georgia in the BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds.
