NCAA Basketball Betting - DUKE at VIRGINIA

BetUS NCAA basketball betting odds: DUKE -7, Total 158

The Duke Blue Devils (25-3 SU, 14-11-2 ATS) prep for one of their biggest games of the season on Wednesday night when they travel to Charlottesville to play the Virginia Cavaliers (14-13 SU, 12-10 ATS) in an Atlantic Coast Conference game scheduled to start at 7 PM ET at the John Paul Jones Arena.

In the BetUS NCAAB betting odds, Duke is listed as a seven-point favorite, with a total of 158 points.

Here are some of the NCAAB betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

Virginia is trying to close out the season in a fiery fashion. The Cavs have beaten Boston College and North Carolina State, lost a very close game to Miami and beat Georgia Tech in Atlanta on Monday night. Clearly there is a rush to build enough of a resume to keep playing after the ACC tournament is over.

It is true that Duke has had a couple more preparation days for this game, but one has to wonder whether those are prep days for the rematch with North Carolina, which occurs on Saturday. If Duke gets a season sweep of the Tar Heels, that could mean a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Duke hasn't been covering numbers lately as it is (just one game in the last seven), and since Coach K's team does not have a lot of useful size, there is the strong possibility that Virginia, which has a +7 rebounding margin in home games, can control the boards. And Virginia has potentially the most dangerous man on the floor in Sean Singletary, who had 17 points against Georgia Tech after registering a career high 41 against Miami.

It is indeed the third game in five days for Virginia, but this team has to somewhat desperate to finish the regular season on a positive note, so we'll take the points with the Cavs, the seven-point underdogs in the BetUS NCAA basketball betting odds.
