NCAA Basketball Betting - COLORADO STATE vs. WYOMING

BetUS NCAA basketball betting odds: WYOMING -6.5, Total 138

The Colorado State Rams (6-24 SU, 12-14 ATS) couldn't pick a better time than now to come up with its first conference victory of the season, as they kick off the Mountain West tournament with a meeting against the Cowboys of Wyoming (12-17 SU, 9-14-1 ATS) in a first-round game that gets underway at 2 PM ET at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

In the BetUS NCAA basketball betting odds, Wyoming is listed as a 6.5-point favorite, with a total of 138 points.

Here are some of the NCAAB betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

* CSU has covered none of its last four games

* CSU has lost its last 17 games SU

* CSU has played three of its last four games OVER the total

* WYO has lost four of its last six games SU

* WYO has played four of its last six games OVER the total

* WYO has covered six of the last eight meetings

* WYO has won 13 of the last 18 meetings SU

* WYO has had the rebounding edge in six of the last eight meetings

* CSU has made more three-pointers in five of the last six meetings

Tim Miles has had a tough initial season as coach at Colorado State, as he has yet to chalk up his first Mountain West win. And things are bleak for their chances to come away with even one victory in the conference tournament, since it is unlikely that seven-foot Stuart Creason, who played well the last time these teams met, will be able to see action. That leaves the Rams without any size, outside of the minimal contributions of backup Ronnie Aguiar. And Miles is going to have to improvise with his defenses, something he's not all that confident in."The same-old, same-old’s just not working," he says.

One thing Wyoming can do is pound the ball inside, with forwards Tyson Johnson and Joseph Taylor ready, willing and able to exploit Colorado State. Miles' Rams are hardly coming into this game with a hot hand (hitting just 39% and 31% in the last two games) and it's been five games since CSU got to within double digits of an opponent.

No chance of Wyoming looking past this one either, as the Cowboys would never forgive themselves if they gave up the one and only MWC win to their "border rivals."

We will lay the points with Wyoming, the 6.5-point favorites in the BetUS NCAAB betting odds.
