NCAA Basketball Betting Picks - ALABAMA at OLE MISS
By Charles Jay
BetUS NCAA basketball betting matchup:
The SEC will provide a lot of great wagering opportunities for BetUS college basketball followers, and this Saturday is no exception, as the Rebels of Ole Miss (18-9 SU, 9-13 ATS) try to move toward a position in this year's NCAA tournament as they play host to the Alabama Crimson Tide (15-13 SU, 8-14 ATS) in an SEC game that will get underway at 2 PM ET on Saturday at the Tad Smith Coliseum.
Here are some of the NCAAB betting trends as they relate to this matchup:
* ALA has lost nine of its last 13 games SU
* ALA has played five of its last six games UNDER the total
* ALA has covered one of its last five road games
* ALA has lost its last six road games SU
* ALA has played six of its last seven road games UDNER the total
* MISS has lost four of its last five games SU
* MISS has played four of its last five games UNDER the total
* MISS has won 23 of its last 25 home games SU
* ALA has won and covered seven of the last nine meetings
* The last six meetings have gone UNDER the total
* ALA has had the shooting edge in five of the last eight meetings
* ALA has had the rebounding edge in eight of the last ten meetings
* MISS has made more three-pointers in each of the last five meetings
Ole Miss is in the position where at the very least it will have to win out the rest of its regular season schedule. At that point, it's going to be about crossing fingers. Of course, the Rebels put themselves in that spot, as they have now lost eight of their last eleven games. One of those losses was at Tuscaloosa against this Crimson Tide team, which took advantage of foul trouble on the part of Mississippi's big men.
So there is some revenge to be had, and Alabama, which can not win on the road, may be in no position to stop it. The Tide has won just once on the road, in fact, this season, though it must be said that aside from the last one, a 12-point defeat at Auburn, not many of them have been embarrassing.
Embarrassment, however, is what Ole Miss has suffered in its last two games, especially on the offensive end, shooting 27% against LSU in a 20-point loss and 31% against Kentucky this past Wednesday. Here though, Ole Miss returns home, where it has averaged nearly 84 points a game, fifteenth best in the country. If there was any time for a breakout performance, it is now.
So we'll lay the points in this one with the Rebels, the favorites in the BetUS NCAA basketball betting odds.
