NCAAB Wagering - Clemson Tigers vs North Carolina Tar Heels
By D. S. Williamson
I’m sure the Tar Heels can still taste the sourness of defeat that the Duke Blue Devils left in their mouths earlier this week. Because of that loss they will probably go crazy this weekend on the Clemson Tigers and take them out like a bunch of little Beckies without their charge cards in a mall in Beverly Hills. That’s a pretty goofy mixed-metaphor, right!
Here are some trends:
The Clemson Tigers have gone 6 and 4 against the spread in their last 10 games.
The Clemson Tigers have gone 3 and 3 against the spread in their last 6 games.
The North Carolina Tar Heels have gone 5 and 4 against the spread in their lsat nine games.
The North Carolina Tar Heels have gone 3 and 3 against the spread in their last 6 games.
The line may go up to 10 points, but I don’t think it will matter. North Carolina has not been playing up to their usual standards. A lot of that has to do with the injury to Ty Lawson who should be okay by Sunday. If he’s not, then the Tar Heels are definitely an underlay bet at anything above six points in this game.
If Lawson does play, then the Tar Heels should smack the Tigers around like the rag-doll that they are. Clemson barely lost to the Tar Heels in overtime at home the last time these two teams played. I don’t expect as a close of a game this time around as this is the time of the year when North Carolina coach Roy Williams starts to turn the screws.
He needs to get his fellas ready for March. That means that North Carolina should dispose of pretenders earlier in games then they did when the season started.
With Lawson playing, the Heels run all over the Tigers in this game. Let’s set our BetUS line at 10 points and watch the Heels make a statement at home.
The predicted BetUS college basketball line is North Carolina Tar Heels – 7.5 against the spread at home versus the Clemson Tigers.
I’m going with Tar Heels at 10 points or lower. I think they will come out firing after that loss to the Duke Blue Devils. North Carolina still has a chance of grabbing at least a number two seed in the NCAA Tournament. They won’t let a team like Clemson get in their way.
