NCAAB Betting Tennessee vs. Vanderbilt
By D.S. Williamson
Tennessee Volunteers (-3) vs. Vanderbilt Commodores (+ 3) Tip-off: 9:00 p.m. est.
Newly crowned number one team in the land Tennessee travels to Vanderbilt to take on the Commodores. This is going to be a very, very good SEC match-up. Both the Volunteers and the Commodores have the necessary make-up to get all the way to the Final Four this year. That means that BetUS college basketball bettors should definitely watch this game. I also think that all of us BetUS college basketball bettors should jump on this game with two fists full of duckets. But that’s after I highlight some trends:
Here are some trends for this game:
The Tennessee Volunteers are 5 and 1 against the spread in their last 6 games versus a team with a winning straight-up record.
The Vanderbilt Commodores are 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 games overall.
The Vanderbilt Commodores have won 31 out of their last 32 home games straight-up.
The HOME team is 4 and 1 against the spread in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
Oh, Becky! This is going to be some game tonight! I had to highlight the fact that the Commodores have won 31 out of their last 32 home games because the Commodores are underdogs in this match-up. That’s right! The home team, ranked in the top 25, are underdogs!
Don’t get me wrong, man for man Vandy has no chance against the Tennessee Volunteers. But this is college basketball where you don’t have the luxury of getting a good feel for a team because you are stuck in a seven game series. Nope. In college hoops you have to be ready to play every night against every opponent you face.
Here’s the kicker regarding this game - - Tennessee could be well-prepared and ready, but I still don’t think they will beat Vandy straight-up in this game.
The Volunteers destroyed the Commodores by 20 points the last time these two teams met, but that was on Tennessee’s home-court and that was before Vandy started to improve. The Commodores are a much better team. They have been playing lights out against some good SEC teams.
That makes this a pretty easy pick in my mind. As good as Tennessee looked against the Memphis Tigers the other night, going into Vanderbilt to take on a team that has improved might just be too much for them.
I like Vandy straight-up.
The BetUS line is Vanderbilt Commodores + 3 against the spread at home versus the Tennessee Volunteers.
I’m going with Vanderbilt and the money-line.
