NBA Gambling Odds - Philadelphia 76ers vs. Orlando Magic
By Eric Williams
The Philadelphia 76ers, (34-34 SU, 37-28-3 ATS, 32-35-1 O/U), have won eight of their last ten games and four straight in the BetUS.com Sportsbook coming into tonight’s matchup against the Orlando Magic, (45-25 SU, 43-25-2 ATS, 33-35-2 O/U), to get one-game over .500 for the first time all season.
The Sixers picked up their latest victory at home against former longtime star Allen Iverson and the Denver Nuggets, beating Denver 115-113 to extend their winning streak to four games while welcoming back their ‘prodigal son’ for one night.
Iverson scored a game-high 32 points in the loss.
"I dreamed it up a certain way, and it was better than that," Iverson said. "Everything was perfect but one thing, and that was not winning the game."
Philadelphia is 16-4 in its last 20 games and extremely focused according to their head coach.
"That was like a playoff game out there," head coach Maurice Cheeks said. "The game was just drama and I thought our guys handled it well. We're not in the playoffs yet, but we're trying to get there."
The Magic have already clinched a spot in the playoff in the mediocre eastern conference, but is also in the process of making preparations for the postseason.
The Magic had their five-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday, losing to the Washington Wizards 87-86 at home.
"It was one of those nights where we got great looks at the basket but the shots weren't falling," said reserve forward Keith Bogans. "They made some great shots, but it was a tough night."
Philadelphia is 7-3 against the spread in its last ten games while Orlando has gone 6-3-1 against the spread over the same span.
Here is a look at tonight’s Key Trends, followed by my analysis and NBA Betting Picks.
The 76ers are 6-0 ATS in their last six after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.
The 76ers are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games.
The Magic are 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
The Magic are 4-1 ATS in their last five vs. NBA Atlantic.
The Over is 4-1 in 76ers last five games following a S.U. win.
The Under is 4-0 in Magic last four games playing on one days rest.
The 76ers are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Orlando.
The Over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings.
Analysis: The Orlando Magic may lead the entire NBA in ATS wins this season, but the Philadelphia 76ers are playing out of their minds right now and should give the Magic a real test tonight while covering the spread in a ‘last possession’ type of contest.
