Bet On Basketball – Pistons Travel To Memphis

At 14-6 and 6-14, the Detroit Pistons and Memphis Grizzlies may have flip-flopped records at the moment, but the Pistons will be taking on their ATS superior tonight when they travel to Memphis to take on the Grizzles, the league’s seventh-ranked ATS team.

The Pistons, (14-6 SU, 11-9 ATS, 11-9 O/U) are playing their best basketball of the season at the moment, having won six of its last seven games and eight out of 10 since Nov. 21. While only two of their opponents (Utah and New Orleans) have had winning records during the stretch, don’t blame the Pistons for taking care of business with their easy early season schedule.

The Grizzlies, (6-14 SU, 11-8-1 ATS, 10-10 O/U) on the other hand, are heading in the opposite direction, having lost four consecutive games heading into this contest, including a 86-78 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday where the team scored just 10 points in the first quarter.

Despite their troubles, the Grizzlies are getting a fine season from forward Rudy Gay who is averaging a team-high 18.2 points per game on 47 percent shooting. The Grizz however, weren’t counting on getting sub par production from al-star center Pau Gasol, who is averaging a career-low 17.3 points per game this season.

Detroit is getting 17.3 and 17.1 points per game from their backcourt combination of Richard Hamilton and Chauncey Billups.

Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by my analysis and NBA Betting Free Picks:

Key Pistons Trends

Pistons are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.

Pistons are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

Pistons are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a favorite.

Key Grizzlies Trends

Grizzlies are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.

Grizzlies are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games as a home underdog.

Grizzlies are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning percentage above .600.

Key Totals Trends

Over is 4-0 in Pistons last 4 Tuesday games.

Over is 6-0 in Pistons last 6 games as a road favorite.

Key Head-to-Head Trends

The Pistons are 1-6 ATS in the last 7 meetings.

The Underdog is 8-1 ATS in the last 9 meetings.

Analysis: While I am just the slightest bit concerned about the 7-point line beig a bit too high, I’m going to go with the Pistons to once again ‘handle their business’ against an inferior team. Simply put, Detroit’s second-ranked defense is just too much for Memphis and the 103.2 points per game they average.
