NBA Sunday Betting - Los Angeles Lakers vs. Houston Rockets

Los Angeles Lakers (predict: + 2.5) vs. Houston Rockets (predict – 2.5)

Tip-off: 3:20 pm EST.

This nationally televised match-up between the Lakers and Rockets should offer BetUS live-wagering during the game. Live-wagering is an excellent way for BetUS NBA bettors to stay on top of things. Take advantage, friends!

Okay, now that the plug is done, let’s get down to whether or not the Rockets will continue that amazing streak they’re on. The Lakers were number one in my power rankings last week. The Rockets are number one in my power rankings this week. Only one game separates these two terrific Western Conference squads. The Rockets have gone an incredible 17 and 2 against the BetUS spread in their last 19 games - - not counting their Friday match-up versus the Charolotte Bobcats. The Lakers have gone 5 and 5 against the BetUS spread not counting their Friday match-up against the New Orleans Hornets. Here are some other trends not counting tonight’s games, of course.

The Los Angeles Lakers have gone 2 and 3 against the spread in their last 5 games.

The Over has gone 5 and 1 in the Lakers last 6 games.

The Houston Rockets have gone 10 and 0 against the spread in their last 10 games.

The Over/Under has gone 3 and 3 in the Rockets last 6 games.

When will the Rockets streak end? The fact that they are playing better than any other team on the planet shouldn’t shock us that much. The Rockets have Tracey McGrady who is one of the top players in the NBA. They are also coached by Rick Adelman who used to regularly take the Sacramento Kings into the NBA Playoffs. Adelman is a terrific coach. It just took this Rockets’ team some time to believe in his system.

Of course, none of those things matter in Sunday’s game versus the Los Angeles Lakers. This is the first time that the Rockets have faced the Lakers since the Lakers secured Pau Gasol and turned their moribund offense into the best in the NBA.

If there is one team that should end the Rockets’ streak, it is the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers have Kobe Bryant who will, undoubtedly, counteract anything that McGrady brings into this game.

They also have Gasol, LaMar Odom, and Derek Fisher. The Lakers should be able to beat-up on Dikembe Mutombo, the Rockets’ old-man center, all afternoon.

I like the Lakers to beat the spread this Sunday.

The predicted BetUS line is Los Angeles Lakers + 2.5 against the spread on the road versus the Houston Rockets.

The Lakers should beat this spread. In fact they should win this game outright and end the Rockets’ streak.
