NBA Sports Betting Picks - Memphis Grizzlies vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

Memphis Grizzlies (+ 7.5) vs. Minnesota Timberwolves (- 7.5)

Both teams have straight-up records of 15 and 60. That makes each team the worst team in the NBA Betting. They get to share that distinction which makes me wonder why the T’Wolves have to give up so many points to the Grizzlies in this game. This is like a teaser bet in football. Seriously, are the T’Wolves 7.5 points better than the Grizzlies?

The T’Wolves have gone 5 and 5 against the BetUS spread in their last 10 games. This includes a 9 point ass-whipping they put onto the Los Angeles Clippers in their last game. The Grizzlies have gone 3 and 7 against the spread in their last 10 games, but 2 and 0 in their last 2 games. I guess the Grizzlies are on a streak. Here are more trends.

The Memphis Grizzlies are 3 and 8 against the spread in their last 11 games following a win against the spread.

The Minnesota T’Wolves are 4 and 0 against the spread in their last 4 games versus a team with a losing straight-up record.

The Memphis Grizzlies are 5 and 1 against the spread in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.

The Over is 4 and 1 against the spread in the last 5 meetings between these two teams in Minnesota.

The BetUS over/under is 204.5. The last time these two teams met the score ended up 109 to 80. That was in December. The problem with this over/under is that it appears to be exactly where it should be. Neither Memphis nor Minnesota usually scores a lot of points. But they can score points when the need arises. For instance, Memphis put up 111 on the Suns. Granted the Suns scored over 130 in that game, but Memphis did try and run with Phoenix.

There is no telling how this game is going to go. Both teams can run or play a slow-down game depending on the other team. The problem is that both Memphis and Minnesota is used to being dictated to. They are not use to doing the dictating.

That makes the BetUS over/under a difficult wager to assess in this game. Because of that I’m going to look elsewhere.

Where is elsewhere? Why taking the Grizzlies and the points, of course! When in doubt, take the points, friends. That’s my motto. I think the Grizzlies have a good thing going in their last two games. Why not keep it going and make it 3 in a row against the BetUS spread?
